Rochester, NY – A 25-year-old man faces multiple charges for allegedly shooting a woman last month after stealing a car on Jefferson Avenue.

Officers say that on October 5, around 11 p.m., a 61-year-old woman arrived at Strong Memorial Hospital with at least one non-life-threatening gunshot wound to the lower body.

The victim reported she was at a corner store on Jefferson Avenue when her friend’s vehicle was stolen.

She, her husband and a friend reportedly followed the vehicle to Tremont Street, where 25-year-old Shaiquon Reeves opened fire, hitting the victim and the vehicle they were in. Officers say they recovered the stolen vehicle the next day.

Investigators identified Reeves as the alleged shooter and detained him Friday on Remington Street.

Reeves is charged with assault, robbery, criminal possession of a weapon and grand larceny. He also received an outstanding arrest warrant for criminal impersonation and traffic-related charges.
