A man has appeared in court accused of stabbing a 77-year-old man to death in front of shoppers at a south London market.

Hilkiah McLeggan from Southwark, south London, died at the scene after being attacked in East Street, Walworth, on Sunday morning.

Two other men were taken to hospital with serious injuries and one remains in critical condition.

Appearing at Croydon Magistrates Court, Musse Ali, 66, of no fixed address, has also been charged with two counts of attempted murder.
