WILSONVILLE Ore. (KPTV) – A Wilsonville man was arrested Sunday morning in connection with the death of his 70-year-old father.

When officers arrived, they found Michael James McCann, of Molalla, dead with multiple gunshot wounds outside the home.

McCann’s son, Michael Morris McCann, 34, was arrested Sunday morning at 5:50 a.m. by a SWAT team at his apartment, Berkshire Apartments, in Wilsonville. He was booked into the county jail charged with second-degree murder and unlawful use of a weapon.

“Around 5:50am I heard a pretty loud bang and realized it was probably a flash, so I looked out the window. I saw the whole lot completely filled with Clackamas County sheriffs, and that’s when they started over the PA again telling the guy to come out with his hands up,” said Wilsonville resident Gary Hoffman.

The investigation is still ongoing and detectives urge anyone with information to contact their tip line by phone at 503-723-4949 or by using the online email form.
