Diddy Reportedly Makes Third Attempt for Bail Citing ‘Thin’ Case by Prosecutors

diddyHis lawyers are not giving up their attempts to get him out on bail before his trial in 2025.

The jailed music mogul recently argued that, in light of new evidence and a renewed bail package, he should be released of the Brooklyn Metropolitan Detention Center.

Diddy’s legal representatives emphasized that he was unable to prepare efficiently. for his upcoming trial in the detention center, statements that have been echoed in the past. However, two federal judges have denied the rapper’s bail bids.

According to the document obtained from the Bad Boy Records founder’s team, his lawyers filed another bail motion on November 8. In the filing, Diddy’s attorneys argued for his immediate release based on new evidence showing the government had a “weak” case.

They based their claims on a March 2016 video referenced in the rapper’s indictment. The footage apparently captured Diddy violently assaulting a woman at a Los Angeles hotel. However, their legal representatives argued:

“The video is not evidence of a forced ‘freaking out,’ but rather a few-minute glimpse into a complex but decade-long consensual relationship between Mr. Combs and Victim 1.”

Diddy’s prosecution focused on these “freakouts,” which prosecutors said saw women being forced or coerced into engaging with male sex workers. But the bail motion obtained by The Blast claimed the opposite had happened with alleged Victim 1.

According to Diddy’s lawyers, the first mention of any sex trafficking or unwanted sexual contact involving alleged victim 1 was in November 2023. However, this allegation occurred five years after the couple’s breakup in 2018.

“The evidence shows that these allegations were merely attempts to obtain a financial windfall from Mr. Combs,” his representatives stated. Diddy’s lawyers also argued that MDC Brooklyn was not a suitable detention center for the rapper.

“Keeping Mr. Combs detained under extraordinary circumstances would unconstitutionally leave him at a disadvantage in consulting with counsel, seeking evidence and witnesses, and preparing (his) defense,” they stated.

Aside from their consensual relationship and poor arguments about the detention center, Diddy’s lawyers attempted to push for bail with a “much stronger” proposal. They offered home detention with 24-hour security surveillance and “almost total restrictions” on outside contacts.

The artist’s team argued that the updated proposal “exceeds a bail package recently requested by the government in a comparable case in a neighboring district.”

They believed their offer would also “reasonably ensure (Mr. Combs’) appearance as necessary and the safety of any other person and the community.”

Diddy’s team initially proposed a $50 million bail package with strict conditions, but his offer was rejected. The explosion reported that his legal representatives fought back against his denial of bail, noting that his offer eliminated prosecutors’ concerns about flight risk or witness tampering.

Lawyers for the record producer said he posed no risk of fleeing the country and criticized prosecutors’ arguments about possible witness tampering if he was released. Diddy even advocated for banning all female visitors, excluding family, to alleviate their concerns.

In his desperate attempts to change the court’s mind, Diddy offered to sell his private planes and even submit to weekly drug tests as part of his bail conditions. Unfortunately, the judges sided with the prosecutors and deemed him too dangerous to be released.

As stated, Diddy’s downfall began in September following his arrest and indictment on three criminal charges. He was arrested at the Park Hyatt hotel in Midtown Manhattan six months later their homes in Miami and Los Angeles were raided.

Since his arrest, Diddy has maintained his innocence and denied all charges against him. His attorney, Marc Agnifilo, echoed similar sentiments, describing his client as “an innocent man with nothing to hide.”

While Diddy remains behind bars, his efforts to sell his Beverly Hills mansion have been unsuccessful due to his ongoing legal drama. The explosion shared that the luxurious property didn’t attract buyers because of a “ick factor.”

Sources with inside knowledge claimed that “only a few” potential buyers have visited the house or shown interest in the property. A married couple allegedly visited the mansion, but the woman was “scared” and couldn’t wait to leave.

Another reason the home failed to attract buyers was because it was one of the homes raided by Homeland Security earlier this year amid investigations into Diddy’s sex trafficking case. Besides, the price of $61.5 million was too high for interested parties.

Will the third time be the charm for Diddy?
