The mountain fire in Southern California has charred more than 14,000 acres of land in Ventura County, which is about 70 miles northwest of Los Angeles, according to CalFire.

The Ventura County Fire Department is on scene, but the fire has not yet been brought under control.

Governor of California Gavin Newsom obtained a Fire Management Assistance Grant from the Federal Emergency Management Agency to secure resources that will help extinguish the fire, which has forced more than 10,000 people to evacuate their homes, according to a news release.
