Yesterday, November 5, signs and an American flag could be seen outside a Bella Vista voting center.

Around 5 a.m. on Nov. 6, the Shasta County Elections Office released a third round of Election Day results. The results are very preliminary as the majority of Shasta County votes, including many cast on Election Day itself, have not yet been counted.

Election Results: Shasta County Board District 3

In District 3, Corkey Harmon leads with 58.14% of the vote. Harmon has only 583 more votes than Rickert.

Election Results: Shasta County Board of Education Area 1 and 2

SCOE Board Area 1:

Michael Orlicky continues to lead Michelle Renee Tyson, with 52.35% of the votes. He has only 293 more votes than Tyson.

SCOE Board Area 2: Top 2 will win

Jackie LaBarbera leads with 23.85% of the votes followed by Jessica French with 19.07%, Richard Gallardo with 18.06%, Amy Cavalleri with 13.67%, Don Aust with 14.57% and Dolores Lucero with 10.24%. The two best candidates will win. The French lead Gallardo by only 74 votes.

SCOE Board Area 2: 2-year position

Teresa Roberts leads Cindy Vogt with 65.23% of the votes. Roberts has almost 3,000 more votes than Vogt.

Election results: Two- and four-year seats on Redding City Council

Two-year seat: the first one will win

Erin Resner leads with 47.46% of the votes, followed by Mark Mezzano with 44.02% and Anthony Spengler with 8.52%. Resner leads Mezzano by only 273 votes.

Four-year seat: top 2 will win

Paul Dhanuka leads with 40.85% of the vote, followed by Mike Littau with 21.11%, Joshua Johnson with 17.23%, Dave Backues with 11.08% and Ian Hill with 9.72% . Littau leads Johnson by less than 500 votes.

Election Results: Anderson City Council – Top 3 Will Win

The top three vote-getters will win seats on the Anderson City Council. Darin Hale leads with 28.18% of the vote, followed by Susie Baugh with 25.51%, Bonnie Simmons has 24.34% and Stan Neutze has 21.97%. Baugh leads Simmons by just 34 votes.

Election Results: Shasta Lake City Council: Top 3 Will Win

Daniel Ringwelski wins with 23.25% of the vote, followed by Greg Watkins with 22.46%, Toni Coates with 16.77%, Janice Powell with 15.18%, Dolores Lucero with 12.06% and Tena Eisenbeisz with 10.29%. Coates leads Powell by just 42 votes.

Election results: P&Q measures

Measure P, which would prevent the County from acquiring private lands to transfer them to other private lands – for the purpose of using them for the public good – is currently succeeding with 50.85% of the votes, or 204 votes.

Measure Q, which would give the Board another option on how to fill midterm vacancies for elected officials and limits the time the Board can appoint to fill those seats, is failing with 56.80% of voters against. The measure currently fails by 1,640 votes.
