GOSHEN TOWNSHIP, Ohio (WKRC) — A baby girl has died and her Goshen Township father is charged with her murder.

Emergency crews were called to the family’s home on Meadowbrook Drive at 7 a.m. on Nov. 4 because an infant was not breathing.

Four-month-old Evelyn Kammerer was rushed to Cincinnati Children’s Hospital, where she died about 12 hours later, despite efforts to save her.

As detectives investigated, they said they learned that Evelyn’s twin sister had been seriously injured in the past, but those injuries had not been reported.

Detectives have not said what type of injuries the babies suffered or what the cause of Evelyn’s death was.

Their father, Andrew Kammerer, was charged with aggravated murder, felonious assault and child endangerment.

Those who live in the Kammerer neighborhood are still learning about the tragedy. Mike Walter lives a few doors down from Kammerer. He says, “Nothing really happens like that. It’s a pretty quiet neighborhood. I feel bad for them. I’m not scared or anything, but I just feel bad for the family.”
