Elections 2024: results and live analysis

With screenings conducted in most states across the country, ABC News has projected former President Donald Trump to win the high-stakes presidential showdown against Vice President Kamala Harris. Law enforcement officials say they are prepared to deal with unrest on Election Day, but expect the threat to continue in the days ahead.

Poll workers across the country are being bombarded with threats and law enforcement agencies across the country are devoting “substantial resources” to ensuring public safety during the election, according to a new threat assessment obtained by ABC News.

“It is more likely that, following the election results and the recount of the Electoral College votes, individuals who believe the election was rigged, stolen, or decided unfairly may decide to carry out lone criminal or lone wolf attacks in response ” said Javed Ali, former senior counterterrorism coordinator at the National Security Council and now an associate professor at the University of Michigan’s Gerald R. Ford School of Public Policy.

FBI says election threats appear to come from Russia

The FBI says in a statement that they are aware of bomb threats and “many of which appear to come from Russian email domains.”

“At this time, none of the threats have been determined to be credible,” the FBI said.

The threats are in several states, according to the agency.

“As always, we urge the public to remain alert and report suspicious activity to state or local authorities, or submit tips to the FBI at 1-800-CALL-FBI (1-800-225-5324) or online at tips. fbi .gov.”

Elon Musk will spend election night with Trump at Mar-a-Lago, sources say

Elon Musk is expected to spend election night with former President Donald Trump at Mar-a-Lago, sources familiar with the matter told ABC News.

As ABC News previously reported, Trump will host several dinners at his private club tonight, including one with his close friends and big donors and another with members of the Mar-a-Lago club, sources told ABC News.

According to sources, Musk is expected to participate in at least one of the events taking place at Mar-a-Lago tonight.

President Biden will spend Election Day at the White House without public events

For most of 2023 and 2024, President Joe Biden charted a course until Nov. 5, 2024. As the incumbent, the veteran politician was the presumptive Democratic nominee, winning enough delegates in March and locked in a tight race with the former president. Donald Trump.

But instead of spending Election Day preparing for an afternoon speech, the president’s daily schedule is empty beyond the daily briefing with his aides: There are no public events.

The president and first lady Jill Biden will spend Election Night watching the election results in the White House residence with “longtime aides and senior White House staff,” according to a White House official.
