Woman suffers life-threatening injuries after shooting near NSU

Last night, a woman was sent to the hospital with life-threatening injuries after a shooting near the Norfolk State University (NSU) campus, according to Norfolk Police.

Two other men were found with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police were called to Corpew Ave. around 7:45 pm in Norfolk, about a block from NSU, where they found the three people shot.

The woman is still in the hospital and may not survive, police say.

Police have not released any information about suspects or motives. We will update you with any new information.

This morning’s traffic: Accident on I-64 West near Tidewater Dr.

We have another accident in a very familiar place.

Conor Hollingsworth says the accident occurred on I-64 west near Tidewater Dr. in Norfolk. Today it is in those local lanes. Right now, you are blocking a left lane, a left shoulder, and a left center lane.

For an alternate route, look for the MMMBT or take Chesapeake Blvd. or Military Highway to reach Ocean View Ave. You can then take that direction west and take I-64 further up.

  1. Suffolk Mayor Mike Duman is narrowly leading the mayoral race. Starting WednesdayIt looks like the Suffolk mayoral race may come down to a few votes. At his watch party Tuesday night, Duman said he was “cautiously optimistic” he would still be the winner once the votes were certified.

    Mayoral candidate Clint Jenkins trailed Duman by 68 votes Wednesday. He is waiting to see how the process goes before making a decision on a recount.

  2. How Trump’s victory can impact the US economy, according to a local economist. An economist shared with News 3 how Donald Trump’s victory could affect the American economy. Here’s what economist Bob McNab says could happen: “A Trump administration would try to get both houses of Congress to agree to an income tax cut. That would mean more money in people’s pockets.”

    After Donald Trump was declared the winner of the 2024 presidential election, US stocks rose. The Dow Jones rose more than 3% and the S&P 500 jumped about 2%.

  3. Father and son duo on an adventure to visit all 63 US national parks. In April 2021, a Virginia Beach father-son duo made plans Visit all the national parks in the United States. They were inspired by a grandmother from Ohio and her grandson who were doing it. So far they have been to 37 of the 63 national parks.

    Shannon Glover claimed victory as mayor Tuesday night, displacing incumbent Vice Mayor Lisa Lucas Burke. Lucas Burke resigned from his council seat to run for mayor, so he will leave the board in December.

    Newcomers Kitty Bryant, Yolanda Edmonds Thomas and Bill Dodson Jr. moved ahead of incumbents De’Andre Barnes and Mark Whitaker in the fight for council seats.
