2 seriously injured after early morning rollover collision south of Pleasant Hill

PLEASANT HILL, Mo. (KCTV) – Two men were seriously injured after an early morning rollover collision on a rural Missouri highway over the weekend.

He Missouri State Highway Patrol indicates that around 1:20 a.m. on Sunday, Nov. 3, emergency crews were called to the area of ​​Highway 7 and Elliot Rd., south of Pleasant Hill, for reports of a single-vehicle collision.

When first responders arrived, they said they found a 20-year-old Smithton man who was driving his 2012 Ford F-250 southbound on the highway when he went off the road for an unknown reason.

State troopers said the pickup truck struck a guardrail sign and overturned after going off the road. The driver and his passenger Sedalia, 20, were taken to Research Hospital in Kansas City with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

Emergency crews noted that it is still unknown if any of the occupants were wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident. As a result, the van was destroyed. No further information has been released.
