November 17

Santa Rosa: Jesse Miller, botanist and lichenologist, will lead an exploration of the Pepperwood Preserve, where attendees will learn all about lichens. The event will begin with a classroom presentation reviewing the essentials and then a walk to see lichens. Bring a lunch. This event will include a two-mile hike, with some gentle to moderate inclines, over varied and uneven terrain. Glen Ellen: Join Rebecca Lawton, author, scientist, and guide, for a morning of poetry writing at Jack London State Historical Park on Sonoma Mountain. Bring a folding chair as the group settles into Jack London’s house. Calistoga: Join Napa County Regional Park and Open Space Preserve staff for Green Friday at Bothe-Napa Valley State Park. This will be a day of walking and getting to know the natural spaces. Santa Rosa: Join Sonoma County Regional Parks for a hike through Crane Creek Regional Park designed for people in the LGBTQ+ community. 13:30-15:30 Free. Parking is $7 or free with a Sonoma County Regional Parks Pass. 5000 Pressley Road. sonomacountyparks.org
