BIRMINGHAM, Alabama (WBRC) – Birmingham police are investigating after a person was shot Tuesday night.

North Precinct officers responded to the 3100 block of 26th Street North around 7:10 p.m. where they discovered a single-vehicle collision. Officers found a person inside the vehicle with a gunshot wound.

The victim was taken to UAB Hospital for treatment. Police say they do not know his current condition.

Officers believe the victim was shot in the 3400 block of 26th Street North. The victim then drove several blocks before crashing near the Family Dollar in the 3100 block.
