Dismissed recount in Northern Kentucky elections, possible special election

BOONE COUNTY, Ky. (WKRC) – A Boone County judge has determined that a recount of votes in the city of Union is unnecessary, but a special election may be required due to major problems in last week’s election .

Volunteers at two polling locations mistakenly provided incorrect ballots to certain voters, resulting in some races being skipped for some people and included for others who should not have voted for them.

A commissioner who lost a seat by 65 votes requests a resolution. The judge is expected to decide in the coming weeks whether new elections will be held for the entire city or just for the two affected districts.
