HOUSTON – Harris County Judge Lina Hidalgo on Tuesday will discuss the county’s update to fire codes in the wake of Hurricane Beryl, including emergency preparedness measures for our senior community.

The press conference will be held at 1 pm where she will be joined by Chief Laurie Christensen, Harris County Fire Chief; and Mark Sloan, coordinator of the Harris County Office of Emergency Management.

Hidalgo will also address the public awareness campaign on the proper disposal and storage of lithium-ion batteries and electronic devices that contain them, as well as understanding the importance of certified safe products this holiday gifting season.
