6’1″ Paul intends to call up perennial middleweight (167 lbs) Canelo, 5’8″, for a cruiserweight (200 lbs) title fight…

“This moment will show that I am the face of boxing, the biggest attraction,” Paul explained. “Me against Canelo at 200 pounds for the world cruiserweight championship is the biggest fight, possibly even bigger than me against Tyson.

“…Canelo is about to come out and he’s going to want a payday and I want to show the world that all the shit I’ve been talking about about beating Canelo is actually true…”

It’s not just about who wins. Paul has been comparing his and Canelo’s reach on social media, as well as their income generation from fights.

“…I broke his record in Texas,” Paul continued. “I’m outselling tickets and everything.”

Canelo’s last fight in Arlington, Texas, was against Billy Joe Saunders in 2021. The event generated box office revenue of just over 9 million dollarswith more than 66,000 tickets sold. Paul-Tyson hasn’t happened yet, but hundreds of tickets, for as low as $56 per person, were still on sale at the time of writing.
