Natalie Robb revealed that her co-star Jeff Hordley wasn’t too keen on the idea of ​​their characters becoming an item emmerdale.

Cain and Moira Dingle are one of the soap’s biggest success stories, having been married for 10 years. Despite their countless ups and downs, the couple always seems to find their way back to each other.

Natalie, 49, who made her first appearance as Moira in 2009, spoke about the close friendship she shares with Jeff, who has played Cain since 2000.

“I think Moira and Cain have great chemistry on screen,” Natalie exclusively told Express.co.uk and other media outlets.

“He’s like my best friend, so it’s weird how things can happen on screen. But there’s something about them that really works.”

The actress recalled the moment she was told that Cain and Moira would eventually become romantically involved.

The soap star said: “I remember when we did a scene in the pub and I was happily married to John Barton (James Thornton), but there was just one look between Cain and Moira and Gavin Blythe said: ‘Right. I’m going to get together.’ those two’.”

Natalie revealed that Jeff was told the same thing, however, she wasn’t sure because she “didn’t like the change.”

She continued, “But it turned out to be wonderful and because of its longevity, we’ve been married for years, so it’s not bad. We’ve threatened to divorce twice, but we didn’t get it done either.”

Their relationship has been under strain again in recent months following Moira’s brain tumor diagnosis, and Cain is terrified at the prospect of losing his wife.

“Moira and Cain are terrified,” Natalie explained. “He’s really afraid of losing her, so I can say that on his behalf.”

However, since Cain can’t handle the situation, Natalie joked that he’ll probably do something erratic.

She continued, “That’s when Cain does things that are out of control because he can’t control the situation.”

However, despite their current struggles, Natalie shared her hopes that the couple will not fall apart and fight for their marriage, adding: “I think it’s really important that they stay together.

“Marriages go through a lot, there are temptations, there are things that can happen. If everyone gave up after the first hurdle, people wouldn’t get married now.”
