Oklahoma father and son die while trying to save family member from floodwaters

The bodies of a Oklahoma father and son have been recovered after they were swept away by illuminated waters when trying to rescue a trapped person family member, authorities confirmed.

On Friday night, emergency crews from Wagoner and Muskogee counties responded to the scene near Haskell.

Wagoner County Emergency Management Authorities said a girl became trapped in flood waters while trying to clear debris. Then her father and brother entered the rushing waters to save her, but were swept away by the strong current.

The girl managed to free herself and reach securityauthorities said.

The men’s bodies were recovered after a two-hour large-scale search and rescue operation involving multiple agencies and resources, including UTV, drones and boats.

“Our prayers are with the families of the victims and the first responders who made the discoveries,” Wagoner County Emergency Management officials said.

The victims were Lloyd Eubanks, 54, and William Eubanks, 27. FOX 23 in Tulsa information.
