Quincy Jones has been buried.

The legendary producer passed away at his California home on November 3 at the age of 91, and his “intimate” funeral has already taken place at an undisclosed location, with plans afoot for a private memorial service at a later date.

The service was reportedly attended by the ‘Thriller’ producer’s seven children, his brother and two sisters, and other immediate family members.

Quincy’s family announced his death last week.

They said in a statement: “Tonight, with a full but broken heart, we must share the news of the passing of our father and brother Quincy Jones.

“And while this is an incredible loss for our family, we celebrate the great life he lived and know there will never be another like him.”

A few days later, his actress daughter Rashida Jones paid a heartfelt tribute to her father, hailing him as “an icon.”

Sharing a photo of herself as a baby with her father, she wrote on Instagram: “My dad was nocturnal his entire adult life.

“He kept up ‘jazz hours’ since high school and never looked back. When I was little, I would wake up in the middle of the night to look for him. “No doubt he would be somewhere in the house, composing (the old school way, with pen and sheet music).

“He would never send me back to bed. He would smile and take me into his arms as he continued working…there was no safer place in the world for me.

“He was a giant. An icon. A culture changer. A genius. All accurate descriptions of my father, but his music (and ALL of his work) was a channel for his love. He WAS love. He made everyone he met feel loved and seen. That is his legacy.

“I was lucky to experience this love up close. “I will miss his hugs and kisses and his unconditional devotion and advice.”

Rashida signed her tribute: “Dad, it is an honor to be your daughter. Your love lives forever.”

Quincy was married three times: to his high school sweetheart Jeri Caldwell for nine years until 1966, then to Ulla Andersson from 1967 to 1974, and to Peggy Lipton, whom he married the same year as his second divorce before separating in 1989.

He had daughter Jolie with Jeri, a son, Quincy Jr, and daughter Martina, with Ulla, and two daughters, Rashida and Kidada, with Peggy.

The musician also had a daughter Rachel from a brief relationship with Carol Reynolds and Kenya with Nastassja Kinski.
