A man was shot dead and two people were wounded by gunshot wounds in southeast London, the Metropolitan Police said.

Officers were called at 10:10 BST on Sunday to reports of a shooting near Wells Park Road in Sydenham, where they found an injured man who died at the scene.

A woman was also found with gunshot wounds to her legs and was taken to hospital and her condition is not believed to be life-threatening.

A third person later arrived at hospital with what are “believed” to be gunshot wounds, a Met spokesperson said.
