Meghan Markle forces Kate out of the way over seating plan in ‘cringe-worthy’ moment | Real | News

According to royal fans, a “cringeworthy” moment took place between the Princess of Wales and Meghan Markle at Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral at St. George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle.

It happened as the Royal Family approached their seats at the late Queen’s funeral on September 19, 2022.

As the family entered the chapel, Prince William had to tell his family members when they could walk down the row of seats. Having arrived first, he told his eldest son Prince George to pause, but Princess Kate apparently didn’t notice and tried to walk down the aisle.

William then had to point out that they had to wait, so he had to step back to allow Prince Harry and his wife, Meghan Markle, to get off.

It was then that Kate made an almost hesitant gesture as she moved and stopped to let Meghan pass. Although the move was brief and subtle, the slight movement he made to get out of Meghan’s way, along with the tense atmosphere surrounding the event, caught the attention of social media.

Speculation about the relationship between Harry and Meghan and members of the Royal Family in general has been a topic of constant discussion since Prince Harry and Meghan’s decision to step down from their royal duties in early 2020.

Although both Kate and Meghan have remained outwardly cordial in public, this brief moment of awkwardness seemed to remind royal fans of underlying tensions within the family.

The solemn occasion came just a year after the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s explosive interview with US talk show host Oprah Winfrey, in which they leveled accusations of bullying and racism against the Royal Family.

Queen Elizabeth’s funeral was attended by Prince William and Princess Kate and their children, Prince George and Princess Charlotte, as well as Prince Harry and his wife, Meghan Markle.

The monarch died at her Scottish residence at Balmoral Castle on September 8, 2022, at the age of 96, ending a remarkable 70-year reign.

She was buried on 19 September 2022 at King George VI Memorial Chapel with her husband, Prince Philip, who died in 2021.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were in the United Kingdom at the same time as their beloved grandmother’s death.

The couple, who were without their two children, were on a short work trip but extended their visit after learning of the Queen’s deteriorating health.

At the time, the late Queen’s son, King Charles, said the death of his beloved mother was a “moment of great sadness” for him and his family and that her loss would be “deeply felt” around the world.

He said: “We deeply regret the passing of a beloved sovereign and a very dear mother.

“I know his loss will be deeply felt across the country, the kingdoms and the Commonwealth, and by countless people around the world.”
