VW recalls 115,000 cars due to ‘exploding’ airbags. If you have one of these vehicles, bring it to your dealer as soon as possible.

volkswagen is recalling nearly 115,000 vehicles due to a dangerous airbag defect.

Affected models include certain 2017-2019 Beetle, Beetle Convertible, 2012-2014 Passat, 2017 Passat Wagon, and 2006-2007 Passat Sedan vehicles. according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

The NHTSA recall notice stated that these Volkswagen models may have driver-side airbags that could explode and cause possible injury to drivers or passengers.

The affected vehicles have takata air bagswhich have been subject to recalls for many years and have affected millions of vehicles and their owners. This airbag recall is also currently linked to several Mazda vehicles.

Dealers will inspect and, if necessary, replace the driver’s side front airbag module at no cost to the owner.

Owners of affected vehicles will be notified of the recall by mail.
