This is the moment a masked gang raided a computer store and fired a shotgun at terrified staff.

CCTV footage shows the four men carrying out their daring robbery at City Computers Smethwick, West Midlands last year.

Two staff members were inside and suffered non-life-threatening injuries, including a gunshot wound to the arm and a wound to the neck.

Three members of the gang and two other men involved have already been jailed, while a sixth, Azeem Hussain, was sentenced to eight years in prison at Worcester Crown Court yesterday.

The 26-year-old, who admitted firearms offenses at a previous hearing, fled to Pakistan after the incident but was arrested upon returning to the UK in April.

In footage of the raid, which occurred on January 12, 2023, a Ford Fiesta is seen stopping in front of the workshop before four men jump from the vehicle.

A man fires the gun at a closed door, before kicking it open and heading to a back office.

Suddenly, two of the intruders run out of the room and head towards their getaway vehicle while their accomplices continue vandalizing the store.

CCTV footage from the previous day showed the gang exploring the route from their addresses to the areas surrounding the store.

West Midlands Police said there were also numerous calls between the gang on the morning of the terrifying attack.

Three members of the gang were jailed last August. Haider Shabir, 21, was sentenced to 14 years, Mohammed Uwais Latif, 24, was caged for nine years and ten months and Mohammed Tayyib Wajid, 26, was sentenced to 21 months.

In April, Ahmed Aumair, 21, was sentenced to 12 years and six months in prison and

Jamal Hussain, 22, was sentenced to nine years and two months in prison in September.

Detective Inspector Francis Nock, of the force’s Major Crime Unit, said: “All six men involved in this planned armed attack have been found guilty and sentenced.”

‘Azeem Hussain was a key player in this operation and has received long prison sentences to reflect this.

‘This could easily have been a fatal attack but, miraculously, the injuries to the two victims were not serious.

“Guns have no place on our streets and we will continue to bring to justice those who find it acceptable to use them to bring violence to our communities.”
