MORNING HEADLINES | Outer benches Creators Josh Pate, Jonas Pate and Shannon Burke announced in a letter aimed at fans of the Netflix show that will end after its next season. Today the second part of the fourth season begins.

The first part of the fourth season debuted at No. 1 on the Global Top 10 English-language television chart on October 10. From the beginning, the creators said they knew how the series would end, until the final scene.

“Seven years ago, it seemed impossible that we could truly tell the full story of five seasons, but here we are, at the end of our fourth season, still cutting,” the letter reads. “Now, with a little sadness, but also excitement, we leave season four behind and move on to season five, in which we hope to bring our beloved Pogues home in the way we imagined and planned years ago. “The fifth season will be our last and we believe it will be the best yet.”

The Lowcountry has been home to several of the iconic shots of the show, from Crosby’s Fish & Shrimp Company on Oak Island to the Circular Congregational Church on Meeting Street.
