Officers are appealing for witnesses after a man was assaulted and robbed in Leicester city centre.

Police said a group of up to eight men dressed in black clothing and balaclavas approached the victim in New Walk shortly before 20:00 GMT on October 31.

After they ordered him to hand over his phone, they kicked him in the face and body before fleeing without his phone.

He said he also saw the group attack another victim, punching him in the face and demanding his wallet.

Det Con Zaeema Osman said: “Our investigation is ongoing and we are appealing to anyone who may have any information to get in touch.

“We also want to locate this second victim and receive a report regarding his robbery.”
