The University of South Carolina released a statement Wednesday confirming that the forward had returned to practice.

“With the dismissal of legal charges, South Carolina junior forward Ashlyn Watkins has returned to team activities as of today’s practice.” the declaration saying.

Watkins had not worked with the team and was not among the group that traveled to Washington, D.C., for a Visit to the White House in September to commemorate their national championship last season.

Watkins is expected to replace Kamilla Cardoso, the team’s leading scorer and rebounder last season. Cardoso was a first rounder WNBA draft chosen by the sky of Chicago.

South Carolina faces North Carolina State Sunday in Charlotte, North Carolina.
