Tulare County 2024 Election Results: Machine Accidents, No Volunteers on Election Day | Live Voting Updates

TULARE COUNTY, Calif. (KFSN) — It was a rough start to Election Day in Tulare County, as officials encountered some challenges early in the morning.

The Tulare County Recorder says several sites had tabulating machines that weren’t working.

It took the IT team a while to get them back up and running.

At least a dozen voters had to leave their ballots in an auxiliary container.

Those votes will then be counted on a tabulator at the elections office.

Additionally, not all volunteers showed up at at least two Tulare County voting sites. The registrar says requesting its backups has also been a challenge.

More than 300 volunteers receive training for Tuesday. As of Tuesday afternoon, they are still working to fill a couple of their locations, including the Exeter Memorial Building voting site.

However, all voting sites opened on time and remained open throughout the day.

EDITOR’S NOTE: This story has been updated to clarify how votes were handled when tabulators were down and that all voting sites opened on time.
