Travis Kelce Defends Brother Jason Kelce After Heckler Controversy: ‘It’s Not Who You Are’

Travis Kelce has his brother jasonis back in the middle of a controversial incident involving a college football fan during the weekend.

Jason, 37, was filmed using a homophobic slur and smashing a caller’s phone into the ground outside Penn State University’s Beaver Stadium on Saturday, Nov. 2, after the individual made an offensive comment about Travis, 35.

“I know it weighs on you, brother. That sucks,” Travis told his brother during the Wednesday, Nov. 6, episode of his “New Heights” podcast. “You shouldn’t feel so much, obviously the scrutiny and the view of the media and everyone spreading the video, I think that’s going to make the situation bigger than I think it really is.”

“The real situation is that a fucking clown came up to you and talked to you about your family and you reacted in a way that defended your family,” Travis continued. “You may have used some words that you regret and that is a situation that you need to learn from and take ownership of.”

Travis also praised Jason for “owning it” and apologizing for his choice of words during the Monday, November 4, episode of ESPN Monday night countdown.

“Talking about it shows how sincere you are with a lot of people in this world…especially what you said Monday night about how you don’t choose hate,” Travis told his brother. “That’s just not who you are. I love you, brother. “I think you said it perfectly.”
