Did 60 People Vote in Maricopa County Using an Illegal Address?

A post shared on unknown claims that more than 60 people are registered to vote in Maricopa County, Arizona, using a municipal building as their official address.

X/Project Supervision

Verdict: misleading

“Voters without a permanent home” can legally use certain buildings as a voting address in Maricopa County.

Fact Check:

Former President Donald Trump has been declared the winner of the 2024 presidential election, marking the end of a political comeback, according to The Associated Press. During Election Day, voters documented any possible cases of irregularities and shared them on social media, especially in Arizona.

TO mail shared on X claims that more than 60 people registered to vote using an address that was not their home. The post appears to imply that these people illegally used government buildings as addresses.

However, this is false. Maricopa County allows what they call “voters without a permanent home” to use municipal buildings as an address to legally vote. These buildings may include homeless shelters, halfway houses, and courthouses.

A community note was placed on the viral post, providing a pdf file from the Maricopa County Board of Elections, clarifying that what the self-proclaimed “Real Muckraker” saw in his video was completely legal and no foul play was seen.
