DARK FATE director reflects on decision to kill John Connor – GeekTyrant

After directing the first deadpool movie, Tim Miller jumped to terminator franchise together James Cameron do Terminator: Dark Fate.

dark destiny It wasn’t a huge box office hit, but it was easily one of the best. terminator movies that have been made since Terminator 2 was released and received many positive reviews from fans and critics.

It was great to see the stars of the original franchise. Arnold Schwarzenegger and Linda Hamilton together on screen again. But there were moments in the movie that didn’t quite work for fans.

One of the big creative decisions that fans didn’t like was when young John Connor was shot dead by a T-800, creating a new timeline.

While speaking to Variety, Miller reflected on that, saying, “No one sets out to ignore someone’s childhood dreams. It’s not cause for vitriol. A lot of people didn’t like it.” Terminator: Dark Fate for reasons I had nothing to do with.

“One, because it was the sixth movie and another because we killed off John Connor at the beginning, but if Jim Cameron wants that to happen, which I agree with, then that’s what needs to be done.”

Cameron previously took responsibility for Terminator: Dark Fates failures. He said, “Our problem wasn’t that the movie didn’t work. The problem was that people didn’t show up. I’ve said that to Tim Miller many times. I said, ‘I torpedoed that movie before we wrote it.'” a word or film a foot of film.'”

Cameron said he started “getting high off my own supply” by creating a direct network Terminator 2 sequel, and was leaning too much towards the return of Arnold Schwarzenegger‘s T-800 yy Linda HamiltonIt’s Sarah Connor.

He explained: “We accomplished our goal. We made a legitimate sequel to a movie in which the people who were actually going to theaters at the time the movie came out are all dead, retired, crippled, or suffering from dementia. Cameron is now working on a Terminator reboot that throw away everything that came before. It will be a completely new and fresh take on the franchise.
