Find out if the term limits of the Sebastián City Council changed

SEBASTIAN – Voters rejected a proposed city charter amendment that would have extended the terms of the Sebastian City Council.

The referendum question issued by the City Council in April put up a vote on whether an amendment to the Sebastian city charter should extend the council’s term limits to four years or maintain the two-year limit.

Advocates said an extension would eliminate costly annual elections, reduce disruptions caused by council staff turnover and give new council members more time to learn the job.

TO 2011 referendum The attempt to extend term limits also failed by 62%.
