Did Rihanna promise to release a new song if Harris wins?

Say:

Musician Rihanna said she would release a new song if Kamala Harris won the 2024 US presidential election.

Classification:

FAKE

In November 2024, a claim shared on social media alleged that Grammy Award-winning performer Rihanna would reveal a new song if Democratic US presidential candidate Vice President Kamala Harris won the 2024 presidential election.

TO mail in X claimed that the musician said: “If Kamala wins, I will release a song. Just do what you have to do to make that happen.”

(@headnavy on X)

a user responded“Is there no end to his narcissism?” Other saying“I almost fell in love. Damn,” to which the original poster responded“We have to get the win somehow.”

In fact, the original post came from the account @headnavy, a Rihanna fan account, which confirmed through several posts in the thread that the post was a joke. The account name is a reference to “Rihanna’s Navy”, a term often used for his staunchest fans.

While there is no credible media reported the news that Rihanna would be releasing a new song pending the outcome of the election, the artist made headlines with an election-related post on Instagram.

Rihanna is a citizen of Barbados and does not have the right to vote in US elections, but she has used her platform to encourage her fans to vote using the hashtag “#votecauseicant.”

On November 4, 2024, Rihanna published a Instagram Reel which jokingly said, “POV: me trying to sneak into the polls with my son’s passport” with an accompanying post that said, “when protecting ap****** and firing ap****** can happen all in one vote.”

While Rihanna remained active in her comments Following the post, unfortunately I was mainly responding to trolls. There was no suggestion of new music tied to the election result.
