Laedo City Council District 4 and District 7

LAREDO, Texas (KGNS) – Nearly half of the City Council seats are on the ballot this election, and some of the most closely watched races are in Districts 4 and 7. The recent 11-day boil water notice put the spotlight on District 7 and parts of downtown Laredo, including District 4.

District 4 Overview

District 4 covers part of the Heights area and will have a new representative, as announced by Councilman Albert Torres. Six candidates from diverse backgrounds are running for the vacant position:

  • Tanya Benavides
  • Ricardo Garza
  • Osbaldo Guzman
  • Manfredo Salinas
  • Ismael Lozano
  • Priscila “La Gordiloca” Villarreal

District 7 Overview

District 7 encompasses the Mines Road area and the industrial district. There are three candidates on the ballot:

  • vanessa perez
  • Felipe Ramirez

  • District Highlights District 4
  • It includes key landmarks such as the Laredo Medical Center, both cemeteries, and several LISD schools. District 7

It houses industrial centers and the World Trade Bridge.
