Detroit man charged in Livonia double shooting

A Detroit man accused of shooting two men Sunday in Livonia has been charged, police said.

Kamari Dushawn Parham, 25, was charged Monday in Livonia’s 16th District Court with multiple felonies, including two counts of assault with intent to murder, assault with a dangerous weapon and use of a firearm during the commission of a serious crime, authorities said.

A judge set his bond at $1 million and scheduled his next court hearing for Nov. 14.

If convicted, he faces life in prison on charges of assault with intent to murder.

Court records did not list an attorney for Parham on Tuesday.

Authorities said the defendant is accused of shooting one man in the back at a Livonia bar and another man in the leg at a hotel.

Livonia police were called around 1:20 a.m. Sunday to Snooker’s Pool & Pub on Schoolcraft Road near Inkster Road for a shooting, investigators said.

Officers arrived and found a 36-year-old man with a gunshot wound to the back near the main entrance of the bar, according to authorities. They immediately provided help to the victim.

Police also found the suspected shooter at the bar and arrested him without incident.

Shortly after dispatchers received 911 calls about the shooting, officers were dispatched to the Holiday Inn on Schoolcraft Road, about a half-mile from the bar, to report a second shooting victim.

They arrived to find a 31-year-old man with a gunshot wound to the leg, authorities said. The agents provided aid to the victim.

According to a preliminary investigation, the two injured men were in a fight at the bar when the suspect allegedly pulled out a gun and shot them, wounding both.

The victim with the leg wound left the bar and headed to the hotel where officers found him, they said.

Detectives said both victims are Detroit residents.
