Gurugram: The City Police has registered an FIR against unknown persons after a three-year-old girl was allegedly assaulted. The case, filed under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses (POCSO) Act on October 29, arises following a complaint filed by the girl’s parents. She had told them that a man had touched her inappropriately.

Since the girl spends most of her time at home or at school, the parents suspect that the assault may have occurred at school. Apparently, the girl talked about a delivery driver, without specifying, that a man had touched her.

When parents approached the school to request CCTV footage, the principal and school authorities informed the police. Male members of staff at Olay School have been questioned and CCTV footage is being reviewed.

The child will be referred to the Child Welfare Committee for counselling. The police are examining all aspects of the case and a Special Investigation Team (SIT) has been formed.
