“I try to treat people with common decency and respect, and I will continue to do so in the future,” Kelce said. “Even though I fell short this week, I will do it in the future and continue to do it.”

The Penn State University Police and Public Safety department is investigating the viral incident that occurred Saturday outside Beaver Stadium, the Philadelphia researcher reported. Videos circulating on social media show Kelce, who was in town for ESPN’s “College GameDay,” walking toward the stadium with a case of beer, while a crowd of people follows and cheers.

At one point, a man in a Penn State hoodie and on his phone yells, “Hey Kelce! How does it feel that your brother is dating Taylor Swift? As the man continues to interrupt and film, Kelce stops, rips the phone out of his hand, smashes it to the ground, then picks it up and continues walking.

“Give me my phone, dude,” the heckler says, and Kelce responds, “Who’s the f–k now?”

Kelce’s brother travisa tight end for the Kansas City Chiefs, has been dating pop megastar Swift since the summer of 2023. The brothers often discuss the high-profile relationship on their popular New Heights podcast, and Jason has been unequivocal by offering Travis his support.

The video of Jason breaking the heckler’s phone has been viewed more than 35 million times on X, formerly Twitter. Penn State is investigating the incident as possible criminal conduct or disorderly conduct, according to the Philadelphia researcher.

During his statement on Monday, Kelce told viewers it wasn’t “the right way to do things.”

“At that moment, I fell to a level that I shouldn’t have,” he added.
