BAGLEY, Minn. (Valley News Live) – A man and five children are injured after an explosion near Bagley, Minnesota.

The Clearwater County Sheriff’s Office responded around 12:30 pm on Monday, November 4 to a storage unit north of town on 370th Street.

Officers arriving at the scene found that a man and five children, aged between 6 and 14, had been involved in an explosion and all were suffering from burns.

Preliminary indications are that a propane tank had leaked inside the metal storage unit. The explosion occurred after the man lit a cigarette.

People passing by were able to help the burned victims until rescuers arrived. Ambulances from the surrounding area were called for mutual aid and the six victims were taken to area hospitals to receive treatment for their burns.

The Minnesota State Fire Marshal’s Office was called to the scene to investigate. The conditions of all those involved are unknown at this time.
