A Greenville man has stepped up to help those in need in Western Carolina. Shawn Hendrix says he received a call a few weeks ago from a friend, telling him they were struggling to get Starlink satellites to the region.

He approached them and told them he could help them get there. In the last three weeks, Hendrix has helped deliver and configure more than 60 Starlink Internet units for the area, and he hasn’t stopped there. Now she is also collecting food, clothing and other donations for those affected by Helene.

Right now, he says, families especially need help with housing. Hendrix says one person donated an entire camper for a family.
