Laredo City Council will review spending and transparency

LAREDO, Texas (KGNS) – The Laredo City Council will hold its regular meeting on Monday, November 4, with several key topics up for discussion.

Council members will discuss the idea of stopping or pausing funding for non-essential projects and moving that money to the city’s general fund. This could generate rebates on community water bills or help fund water system projects.

They will also consider sharing a financial report with details on council members’ salaries, including additional funds for travel, promotions, health benefits and pensions.

Another agenda item is the possibility of drug testing council members to show transparency.

The meeting begins at 5:30 p.m. at City Hall. Community members are welcome to attend.
