However, Fergusson clarified that this did not mean that Kait Diaz and Marcus Fenix ​​​​would be planet hopping. Gears of War 5 teased an ancient, Russian-like technology to get out of Sera, so the goal seemed to simply be a new location (or planet) to raise the stakes. “It wasn’t like we were going to start with Mass Effect,” Fergusson said.

Last year, Fergusson revealed that he wrote an outline for Gears of War 6 before leave to join Activision. At the time, he admitted that the Coalition could have scrapped their plans, which would be “fine” for him.

While it’s unknown what form Gears of War 6 could take, The Coalition is focusing on the past first. Gears of War: E-Day was presented at the Xbox Games Showcase in June.
