OSCEOLA COUNTY, Florida – A crash between a dirt bike and a pickup truck left a 16-year-old dead and an 18-year-old seriously injured in Osceola County Sunday night.

The 16-year-old driver and 18-year-old passenger were riding a 2004 Honda Dirt Bike northbound in the southbound lane of Marigold Avenue.

A pickup truck (2010 Chevrolet Traverse) was traveling in the southbound lane on Marigold Avenue.

The driver of the motorcycle swerved to the left trying to avoid the truck and ended up crashing into a metal post on the shoulder of the road.

The 16-year-old driver was thrown from the motorcycle, landed in the path of the truck and was transported to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The passenger was also transported with serious injuries.

The driver and passengers of the vehicle were not injured and remained at the scene.

This accident is still under investigation.
