Stark County grand jury indicts knife-wielding man wearing Halloween costume

STARK COUNTY, Ohio (WOIO) – The man accused of wearing a Halloween costume and Jason mask while holding a knife and running into traffic has been indicted by a Stark County grand jury.

Jacob Weisgarber, 35, was charged with resisting arrest, obstructing official business, aggravated threatening and inducing panic for the Sept. 17 incident.

Stark County Sheriff’s deputies were called to the 1400 block of Raff Rd. SW in Canton Township around 8:30 a.m.

When they arrived, officers said Weisgarber threatened them with the knife and then ran onto US 30 into traffic.

Officers said they were able to stop traffic to avoid a collision and used a Taser on Weisgarber to take him into custody.

Jacob Paul Weisgarber is charged with two counts of aggravated menacing, one count of obstruction of official business, one count of inducing panic and one count of resisting arrest, court documents show.

Weisgarber was also wanted for aggravated drug possession and attempted grand larceny.

He is scheduled to be arraigned on November 8.
