A pedestrian has been seriously injured in an accident at a supermarket gas station.

Devon and Cornwall Police said officers were called to reports of an accident on the forecourt of the Sainsbury’s petrol station on Nicholson Road in Torquay at around 16:10 GMT on Friday.

Police said the incident involved a car and a man in his 60s who was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

Police added that the driver of the car, a woman in her 70s, was also taken to hospital with minor injuries and investigations into the incident were ongoing.
