More than 900 pounds of marijuana found in Plumas County traffic stop; the suspects fled

Police are searching for suspects after more than 900 pounds were found during a traffic stop in Plumas County.

The California Highway Patrol (CHP) says that on October 22, officers stopped a Ford pickup truck that was speeding on Highway 89 near Willow Way in Greenville. As officers approached, both the driver and passenger ran on foot into the nearby woods.

In the van, officers say they found approximately 974 pounds of processed marijuana.

The incident is still under investigation with the assistance of the Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Office. CHP says they are working hard to locate those involved.

Anyone with information is asked to call the CHP Quincy office at (530) 283-1100.
