The Last Dance’ gets the second victory of the weekend

Venom: The Last Dance” held on for a second win of the weekend in the South Korea theatrical Lockers. He fended off a decent challenge from local comedy “Amazon Bullseye.”

“Venom” earned $2.21 million in its second full opening weekend, down 48% from (a much revised) $4.45 million reported by Kobis, the tracking service operated by the Korean Film Council. Since its release on October 23, “Venom” has amassed a cumulative total of $9.34 million.

The newly released “Amazon Bullseye” grossed $1.45 million over the weekend and $2.37 million during its five-day release. Directed by Kim Chang-ju, the film is a comedy about a Korean archery champion who has to learn some humility when a plane crash takes him to the jungles of South America and places him among members of a tribe with Better bow and arrow skills. Laughter begins when a trio is taken back to Korea.

Third place belonged to “A Normal Family” by Hur Jin-ho, which earned $337,000 in its third weekend of commercial release. The adaptation of Herman Koch’s “The Dinner Party,” in which two couples discuss a violent crime committed by their adult children, has racked up $4.03 million.

The Korean drama “Love in the Big City” took fourth place, earning $282,000. Since its release on October 1, it has amassed a cumulative total of $5.63 million.

The Japanese animation “Weathering With You” became the latest film to achieve a re-release in the difficult Korean market. Originally released in 2019, it earned $268,000 for fifth place.

The American animation “The Wild Robot” grossed $176,000 in its sixth weekend of release. It now has a total of $4.16 million since its release in Korea on October 1.

“Longlegs,” starring Nicolas Cage, debuted Wednesday. It earned $116,000 over the weekend and $184,000 during its five-day opening.

The Korean drama “4 Minutes 44 Seconds” premiered only on Friday and ranked eighth over the weekend with $76,100. This was slightly ahead of the revived American drama film “The Notebook,” which took ninth place with $76,000.

Tenth place was taken by the Russian animated film “The Nutcracker and the Magic Flute.” He earned $53,000 over the weekend and $59,000 during his first five days.
