The Victory Bells rang in Lubbock Saturday night when Texas Tech football team defeated 10th ranked Iowa State 23-22 on the road, become bowl eligible. Red Raider fans took to social media to share their excitement.

To put it in context, this is the team’s first win over a team ranked in the Top 10 of the coaches’ poll since 2011 and the first time it has been bowl eligible for four consecutive years since 2000-2010.

Fans on social media were elated, to say the least.

The official Texas Tech Football social media account even got in on the action and shared their take on ESPN College GameDay’s prediction of who would win.

Even three-time Super Bowl-winning Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes II had to share his pride in his alma mater.

The fans were especially excited to see the red raiders be bowl eligible.

The Red Raiders will face their next challenge in the Hub City on November 9 against Colorado at Jones AT&T Stadium.
