4-star WR Derek Meadows in Ann Arbor to watch Michigan Football vs. Oregon

ANN ARBOR, Michigan.- It looks like Michigan is really heating up on the recruiting trail. The Wolverines landed a pair of commitments on Friday when three-star composite defensive lineman Benny Patterson Cincinnati flipper and later, four-star cornerback Shamari Earls He left Georgia to come to Ann Arbor.

But the thing doesn’t end there. Michigan is now projected to sign former Clemson four-star cornerback Graceson Littleton and the Wolverines are trying to swing for the fences in hopes of landing five-star quarterback, and No. 1 overall player in the ’25 cycle, Bryce Underwood. In an attempt to do so, Michigan has its current four-star teammate in Belleville. Elias Dotson on campus for the second weekend in a row. But there’s another big shot on campus who could help convince Underwood to come to Ann Arbor.

That’s current LSU commit and four-star wide receiver Derek Meadows.

Michigan was interested in Meadows early on before he decided to commit to LSU, but Las Vegas (NV) four-star receiver Bishop Gorman is back on hand to watch the Wolverines against Oregon. Meadows is huge, standing 6-foot-5 and weighing 200 pounds. According to 247Sports’ Composite, Meadows is the nation’s No. 82 prospect and No. 12 wide receiver.

Here’s 247Sports’ Greg Biggins’ assessment of Meadows:

Meadows is a giant receiver and one of the most intriguing players in the class of ’25. He has a rare combination of size, athleticism and body control and is only scratching the surface of how good we think he can be. At 6-6, 200 pounds with an 80” wingspan, he is a nightmare for smaller defensive backs and should be an immediate threat in the red zone. He can also run and is one of the region’s best track and field athletes, although a hamstring injury has limited him this spring. He was the Gatorade Track and Field Athlete of the Year as a sophomore and is one of the top hurdlers in the region. He has a big frame and we wouldn’t be surprised if he eventually develops into a pass-catching tight end who would be lethal working against linebackers and safeties in the middle of the field. That being said, he has a wide receiver skill set and we’ve seen him dominate on the 7-on-7 circuit with his length, jumping abilities, and his ability to catch the ball through contact. His potential is extremely high and with continued development, there is no doubt that he has the potential to play on Sundays for a long time.

It will be something that will have to be followed closely. If Underwood were to come to Michigan, it’s clear there will be top prospects who would want to play with the best quarterback in the country.
