Two women injured after falling from Shepherd of the Hills roller coaster

TANEY COUNTY, Mo. (KY3) – Two women were taken to a Springfield hospital Friday night after an incident at an attraction in Shepherd of the Hills, near Branson.

According to Jim Ferguson with the Western Taney County Fire Protection District, firefighters were called to Shepherd of the Hills around 6 p.m. for an incident involving the roller coaster.

Ferguson says the two women suffered moderate injuries from falling off a cart on the roller coaster.

The incident is now being investigated by the State Fire Marshal’s Office. According to the Fire Marshal’s Office, the women were in their 50s and fell from the car on a curve about 6 feet off the ground. State investigators arrived at the scene around 7 p.m.

Investigators returned during the day Saturday to inspect further. Authorities say the trip will not be authorized until the investigation is concluded.
