Trump ended his successful 2016 campaign in Grand Rapids and also held his final campaign event there in 2020, when he lost the election to President Joe Biden.

A campaign official, speaking on condition of anonymity, confirmed to the Free Press on Monday that Trump’s 2024 campaign will also conclude in Grand Rapids. No further details were immediately available.

Michigan is a key battleground state and Kent County, where Grand Rapids is the county seat, is a key state within Michigan. A Free Press poll released Friday showed that Vice President Kamala Harris, the Democratic presidential candidate, with a 3 percentage point lead over Trump in Michigan. National polls also show an extremely close race.
