Man convicted for fatal accident with police car

RAPID CITY, SD (KELO) – A Rapid City judge sentenced a man to 25 years in prison Friday for a fatal crash that also injured a police officer.

In August, 28-year-old Seth Keim pleaded guilty to vehicular homicide for crashing his vehicle into a police car in September 2023.

27-year-old Lexi Hagen was killed in the accident.

Prosecutors say Keim’s blood alcohol level was twice the legal limit and this was the second time he crashed into a patrol car.

Prosecutors say Keim had four prior DUI convictions.
