Well-known Pixar animator is reportedly accused of child sexual abuse

Disney and Pixar’s animated films are among the most endearing and enduring family films ever made. They are often the first films that many children ever see, because people know that they are suitable for everyone. Unfortunately, not all people behind their creations are so healthy. It has now come to light that a frequent Disney and Pixar animator has been accused of sexual abuse in France.

According to France’s Le Figaro (via Cartoon Brew), animator Bolhem Bouchiba is accused of ordering the rape of hundreds of young girls in the Philippines via livestreaming. This is apparently a unfortunately big problem on the island. Bouchiba had been on Europol’s radar since 2019 (the animator still lives in France), when the organization noticed suspicious activity regarding the transfer of money to the Philippines. The money was spent on live streams where the animator apparently could teach sexual abuse of children between the ages of three and fifteen. It is suspected that the number of live streams performed runs into the hundreds and the number of victims could reach a thousand.

Bolhem Bouchiba isn’t a name most Disney or Pixar fans will necessarily know; animators have often worked behind the scenes without much fanfare since the days of Walt Disney. However, he worked for both studios as early as 1990. His skills have made him a key animator and story artist on countless projects over the past thirty years. He was a main character animator for Hades in Hercules and Disneys Tarzan. He started working with Pixar The incredible ones and his most recent credit was as story artist for Pixar’s sleeper hit Elementary. It doesn’t appear that he was currently working on any upcoming Pixar films or other animated projects. His name appears as an Easter egg in it Ratatouille.

Bouchiba also worked on non-Disney related animated films. He was a story artist How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden Worldcredited with the ‘Forbidden Friendship’ series. He was also an animator of the Oscar-winning animated short film Best basketball written by the late Kobe Bryant. By all accounts, Bouchiba was a sought-after animator.
